MASK

9848EA17-FF4D-44B2-A3F3-36307A1848C4.JPG
A parade towards the precipice, and the music it made.

There is music to come.

Black sackbuts, fat drums.

Flutes aflame with the breath of the beasts.

The choral guffaw, cords raw from their roar

Cawing verses of mirth and disease.

And the screeching of hair,

Crossing wires and air,

Coagulate in cacophonies sweet.

Carousels of cadenzas

Conjure strange influenzas

To stricken them sick with our beat.

So take you not a taste

Of our harlequinade

And gorge on our egregious feast?

All that is asked is to put on your mask

So the truth can dance free from its leash.

All that is asked is to put on your mask

So the truth can dance free from its leash.

For there is music to come.

The jangling jaws

And the sawtoothy maws

Of the keyboards have much chord to speak,

Crimson ribbons of naughty, distorted great fortes;

All your organ of corti can eat.

And the din that abounds

All around is the sound

of our hearts’ very sinews and meat

For sincerity sounds like the scream of a clown,

And love: a riot on repeat.

Fairweather Rex

ld-export-c822e951-01142025.JPG

A project more poetic and personal.

Fairweather Rex is the more introverted persona, exploring the inner experience

and personal reflections on life.

The songs in this project are inspired by love, loss, hope, nature and home.

Martin escaped to an old military lodging by the lighthouse at St Anthony's head in Cornwall

in January of 2025, to finish writing and start producing the first Fairweather Rex album.

That album, The Blue Tenant, is set for release in 2026.
